We are looking for an experienced Avaloq Developer to join our technology team, supporting and enhancing our core banking and wealth management platform. You will work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, and front-office stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver high-quality solutions within the Avaloq Banking Suite, supporting our Asset & Wealth Management operations.
Key Responsibilities
You will design, develop, and maintain Avaloq configurations and customisations across core modules including portfolio management, order management, and client reporting. Working within an agile delivery framework, you will translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver end-to-end solutions in the Avaloq environment.
You will develop and maintain scripts, workflows, and business logic using Avaloq's proprietary scripting language (AEL/PL-SQL), and collaborate with functional consultants to ensure configurations align with regulatory requirements and business rules. You will also be responsible for performance tuning, debugging, and resolving production incidents across the platform.
The role involves participating in system upgrades, patch management, and release cycles, as well as contributing to the design and documentation of technical architectures and integration patterns. You will engage directly with stakeholders from front-office, operations, and compliance to gather requirements and deliver iterative solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Avaloq:
- 6+ years of hands-on Avaloq development experience in a live production environment
- Proficiency in Avaloq's scripting language (AEL), PL/SQL, and the Avaloq meta-layer
- Experience with Avaloq modules such as Portfolio Management, Order Management (OMS), Client & Account Management, and Corporate Actions
- Strong understanding of Avaloq workflows, business rules, and configuration framework
Domain Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of Asset & Wealth Management operations including portfolio accounting, fee billing, securities processing, and client reporting
- Familiarity with financial instruments including equities, fixed income, funds, derivatives, and structured products
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to wealth management (MiFID II, FATCA, GDPR) is advantageous
Technical:
- Strong SQL and Oracle database skills
- Experience with integration patterns — REST/SOAP APIs, MQ messaging, FIX protocol
- Familiarity with Java or other OOP languages is a plus
- Version control using Git; experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery in a fast-paced environment
