We are seeking an experienced Senior Google Workspace Automation & Data Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise transformation program. This role is focused on modernizing legacy Excel/VBA-based processes into scalable, cloud-native solutions using Google Workspace, Google Apps Script, Big Query, and App Sheet. You will collaborate closely with solution architects, business stakeholders, and citizen developers to design, build, and govern enterprise-grade automation, reporting, and workflow solutions.
Responsibilities
Migrate and modernize legacy Excel/VBA workflows to Google Workspace–based solutions
Design and develop automation using Google Apps Script (V8)
Build and optimize Big Query datasets, views, and SQL queries
Develop App Sheet applications and automations for business workflows
Integrate third-party and internal systems using REST APIs and JSON
Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, and reporting pipelines
Implement governance, access control, and best practices for enterprise solutions
Support and guide citizen developers on low-code/no-code solutions
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize automation and data workflows
Produce clear technical documentation and solution designs
Required Skills
6+ years of hands-on experience delivering automation and data solutions in enterprise environments
Strong expertise in Google Apps Script (V8)
Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, formulas, and large data handling
Hands-on experience with Big Query (datasets, views, SQL optimization)
Experience building and maintaining App Sheet apps and automations
Strong understanding of REST APIs and JSON payloads
Proven experience migrating or modernizing Excel/VBA-based solutions
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (IAM, Secrets, monitoring concepts)
Knowledge of enterprise data governance and access control models
Experience working with citizen developers and business-owned solutions
Familiarity with Agile / Kanban delivery models
Prior experience in large enterprise transformation or migration programs
