We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to join our QA team for a product-based client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing product-driven applications, including Desktop and SaaS platforms, and a strong ability to derive comprehensive test cases from Product Requirement Documents (PRDs). You will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, stable, and user-friendly product releases.
Compensation & Benefits The role offers a monthly salary in the range of INR 35,000 – 42,000
About the Role :
The Manual QA Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end quality ownership of our Product, including Frontend, Backend, Integrations, and Desktop application workflows. The role demands strong analytical skills, excellent Jira hygiene, and a holistic testing mindset that goes beyond pass/fail—covering UX, Security, and Performance considerations.
Responsibilities
Functional & Feature Testing: Perform thorough manual testing of product features against PRDs, designs, and business workflows across web and desktop applications.
Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and validate defects using Jira with clear reproduction steps, severity/priority, and supporting evidence.
Gap & Risk Analysis: Proactively identify requirement gaps, edge cases, and logical inconsistencies, and communicate them effectively with Product and Development teams.
Regression & Sanity Testing: Execute regression and sanity test suites before every release to ensure overall product stability.
Non-Functional Testing: Perform basic manual checks for:
Performance bottlenecks
Security issues (authentication/authorization flaws)
UX/UI issues (usability, accessibility, responsiveness)
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders; provide accurate QA estimates and release readiness feedback.
Qualifications
Testing Fundamentals
Strong understanding of STLC and QA processes
Expertise in test planning, test case design, and execution
Ability to correctly assess and assign Severity vs Priority
Product & Desktop Application Testing
Experience working in product-based environments
Hands-on testing of Desktop applications (Windows/macOS) and enterprise-grade products
Understanding of end-to-end product workflows and integrations
Technical & API Testing Skills
Ability to troubleshoot issues across UI, API, and backend logic
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger
Proficiency with browser developer tools (network, console, logs)
Automation Exposure
Ability to execute existing automation test suites
Read and analyze automation reports and identify failure patterns
Coordinate effectively with developers on automation failures
Jira & QA Hygiene
Strong experience in Jira-based defect tracking and workflow management
Ability to create high-quality bug reports with:
Clear steps to reproduce
Expected vs actual results
Environment details
Screenshots/videos/logs
UX, Security & Performance Awareness
Strong UX sensitivity and attention to usability details
Ability to identify obvious security and performance risks during manual testing
Preferred Skills
Experience testing SaaS, Product-based, Enterprise, or Desktop applications
Basic SQL knowledge for data validation
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Exposure to release cycles in product organizations
