Apprentice Application Support Analyst
Join our dynamic Infrastructure & Operations team at S&P Global commodity Insights division as an Apprentice Application Support Analyst. In this role, you will provide operational and technical support for business-specific applications and systems. Collaborating with Infrastructure support teams, you will assist our business partners with first-line remote support for IT issues related to CI applications. Your responsibilities will include following standard operating procedures for incident and service requests, proactively monitoring applications, responding to alerts, and providing periodic health check reports.

Our team operates 24/7, requiring flexibility to work during APAC, EMEA, or AMER hours, including weekends on a rotational shift basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first line of support for requests and incidents from business users, ensuring prompt responses and resolution within service level agreements.
Communicate effectively in both verbal and written business English, including writing technical support and process documentation.
Demonstrate excellent analytical and presentation skills.
Provide outstanding customer support with patience for users of varying technical abilities.
Work effectively under pressure in time-sensitive environments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of operating systems, preferably Linux or Windows Server.
Familiarity with collaborative platforms like Microsoft SharePoint, Box, One Drive, and MS Teams.
Understanding of infrastructure concepts related to distributed applications (load balancers, networking, firewalls, NAT, virtual servers).
Exposure to tools such as PuTTY, RDP, SSH, WinSCP, MySQL Query Browser, or other database tools.
Basic knowledge of cloud computing (AWS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365, especially Excel (macros, worksheets, and add-ins).
Understanding of IT Service Management frameworks (ITIL or similar) is beneficial but not essential.
Preferred

Skills:

Internship or project experience in information technology.
Eagerness to learn and adapt quickly.
Strong communication skills.
