We are seeking a Senior Database Architect with deep, enterprise-level experience to lead the design, evolution, and governance of database platforms supporting OPTO Products and Projects. This role requires a proven ability to architect complex, highly available, and secure database ecosystems across both SQL and No

SQL technologies, while providing strong technical leadership and strategic direction.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with the ability to define long-term data architecture strategy, influence cross-functional teams, and ensure scalability, performance, reliability, and security across mission-critical systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end architecture of enterprise database platforms across SQL and No

SQL technologies.
Design and govern database architectures ensuring scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
Define, document, and enforce enterprise database standards, architectural principles, and best practices.
Provide architectural oversight and guidance for MS SQL Server, Postgre

SQL, and Mongo

DB environments.
Lead complex database migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives across enterprise systems.
Architect data warehousing and data integration solutions to support analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption.
Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and leadership teams to align database architecture with business and product strategy.
Evaluate, recommend, and govern database technologies, tools, and platforms.
Establish enterprise-wide strategies for performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring.
Ensure database security, compliance, access controls, encryption, and data protection standards are consistently met.
Design and validate clustering, replication, failover, and disaster recovery architectures.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to database engineers and developers.
Lead root-cause analysis for complex database issues and drive long-term remediation strategies.
Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, data models, standards, and design artifacts.

Required Education,

Skills & Experience:

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Required)
Master's degree preferred
Experience
15+ years of progressive experience in database engineering and architecture
Significant experience in enterprise database architecture and system design
Proven leadership of large-scale, mission-critical database environments
Deep hands-on expertise in:
Microsoft SQL Server
PostgreSQL
Mongo

DB (or equivalent enterprise No
