Role Overview
We are looking for an AWS Insights Engineer with a strong focus on designing, building, and maintaining dashboards and analytics solutions using AWS services. This role is centered on turning cloud data into clear, reliable, and actionable visual insights for business and technical stakeholders.
You will work closely with data engineers, product teams, and business users to define metrics, model data, and deliver high-impact dashboards primarily using AWS-native analytics and visualization tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using AWS Quick Sight and related AWS analytics services.
- Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and data visualization requirements.
- Query and model data using Amazon Athena, Redshift, and S3-based data lakes.
- Ensure dashboards are accurate, performant, and easy to interpret for business users.
- Implement data refresh strategies, permissions, and row-level security in Quick Sight.
- Validate data quality and consistency across dashboards and source systems.
- Optimize queries and datasets for performance and cost efficiency.
- Document dashboard logic, metric definitions, and data sources.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and insight generation as business needs evolve.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 3–6+ years experience in analytics, BI, or cloud data roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS analytics and visualization, including:
- Amazon Quick Sight
- Amazon Athena
- Amazon Redshift
- Amazon S3
- Excellent SQL skills for analytics and reporting.
- Experience designing dashboards for executive and operational audiences.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts (facts, dimensions, aggregates).
- Ability to translate business questions into meaningful visualizations.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with global teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS Glue or lightweight ETL processes.
- Familiarity with Cloud Watch metrics and operational dashboards.
- AWS certifications (Data Analytics, Solutions Architect, or equivalent).
- Exposure to other BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) in addition to Quick Sight.
- Basic Python knowledge for data preparation or validation.
