Community & Retention Manager (Gaming | Discord | RMG)

Role Overview We are looking for a Community & Retention Manager who understands gaming culture and can build an active, trusted, and engaged player community across Discord, Telegram, and social platforms.
This role is not moderation alone.
You will be responsible for driving conversations, encouraging participation, managing sentiment, and creating small engagement moments that improve retention and player loyalty.
You will work closely with content, social, creative, and growth teams to ensure the community feels heard, informed, and emotionally connected to the game.
Experience working with gaming or RMG communities is strongly preferred. Exposure to SEA player behaviour and engagement patterns is a major advantage.
Key Responsibilities Manage and grow Discord and Telegram communities with active engagement
Moderate conversations while maintaining a positive and competitive environment
Run small events, tournaments, polls, and engagement initiatives
Monitor player sentiment and escalate issues to internal teams when required
Support ORM by responding to concerns and maintaining trust
Collect player feedback and convert insights into retention opportunities
Collaborate with creators and social teams to amplify community activity
Help onboard new players and guide them through early gameplay experiences
Success Metrics Active community participation and engagement levels
Player sentiment and trust indicators
Retention signals from community-active users
Event and activity participation rates
Speed and quality of issue handling
Ideal Candidate 2-4 years managing gaming, esports, or RMG communities
Strong familiarity with Discord, Telegram, and gaming communication patterns
Comfortable handling competitive discussions and emotional player reactions
Ability to initiate conversations and sustain community energy
Gaming-native mindset with strong empathy and communication skills
Experience working with SEA gaming audiences is a plus
Bonus (Nice to Have) Experience running gaming tournaments or engagement events
Exposure to creator-led community ecosystems
Familiarity with moderation tools and sentiment tracking
Experience working with early-stage gaming communities
