Project Summary
Pratham proposes to establish a Centre for AI in Education at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Varanasi, as an Experiential Learning Centre to strengthen pre-service teacher education through a structured, practice-oriented AI curriculum module. The Centre will enable DIET students to build foundational AI literacy, engage in hands-on projects linked to classroom practice, and learn responsible and safe AI use.

The Centre will also support in-service teacher capacity building through a Master Trainer model and create opportunities for school students' exposure to introductory AI learning.

Position Summary
The Centre In Charge will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Centre for AI in Education at DIET Varanasi on behalf of Pratham. The role will coordinate and support the delivery of fortnightly AI learning sessions for DIET students through a blended model, where sessions are delivered virtually by Pratham and supported on-ground  Centre In Charge will ensure smooth session execution, student engagement, documentation of outputs (lesson plans, classroom activities, reflective tasks, final projects), coordination with DIET faculty and administration, and timely monitoring and reporting.

The role will also support Centre readiness, exposure visits for school students, and Centre events such as launch and showcase events.

Key Responsibilities
Centre Operations and Management
Manage Centre setup and readiness in coordination with DIET administration and Gurushala team
Ensure Centre infrastructure is functional for blended learning (basic logistics for virtual sessions, classroom readiness, materials)
Maintain the Centre calendar and ensure alignment with the DIET academic schedule for sustained engagement of DIET students

Session Coordination and Facilitation Support (DIET Students)
Coordinate fortnightly AI sessions for DIET students and provide on-ground facilitation support during sessions
Support guided hands-on activities during sessions and help students complete session outputs
Ensure session outputs are compiled, organised, and shared with Gurushala as required (lesson plans, activity designs, reflective tasks, final teaching project)

Coordination with DIET Faculty and Institutional Ownership
Coordinate with DIET faculty to support co-facilitation in the initial phase and gradual transition of ownership
Support DIET faculty during sessions (student mentoring, clarifications, tracking outputs) and document feedback for improvement
Strengthen convergence by ensuring the Centre functions as an integral part of DIET systems and routines

Stakeholder Engagement and Programme Linkages
Coordinate with Pratham's academic and technical teams for session planning, resources, and tools
Support linkages with in-service teacher training components where relevant (coordination support for Master Trainer engagements aligned to the programme design)

School Student Exposure and Centre Outreach
Coordinate structured exposure visits of school students to the Centre
Support delivery logistics for short, level-appropriate introductory AI modules during exposure visits
Ensure safe and guided student engagement during Centre visits and maintain basic documentation of participation
