About the R&D department

The Research and Development (R&D) Department is the breeding ground for new technologies applied in our systems. From development of new control systems, making virtual test environments, creating smart tools for our engineering department to working on autonomous features with vision systems.

Your role as Work student R&D

We have a heavy focus on knowledge-based engineering, by combining modelling with data from our systems offshore. You will be helping us with building and improving these engineering tools. With these tools, you will help Ampelmann designing and operating systems more efficiently. Possible projects you could be working on are a real-time data logger, or an inhouse-built hardware in the loop simulator!

Regular activities

  • Create and update models and engineering tools of our Python library.
  • Design Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for the tools.
  • Collaborate with R&D and other innovations engineers to understand the needs for new technologies.

We ask

  • A technical background (computer science) at HBO or WO level
  • Knowledge of Python, web development, ROS, C++
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Availability for a period of at least 6 months, 4 days per week
