RF AIT Technician

Overview

As an RF AIT Technician
, you are part of the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) flow that turns designs into flight-ready hardware. You combine hands-on work with structured preparation and documentation, ensuring satellite hardware is built correctly, integrated smoothly, and verified against requirements.

You will plan and prepare AIT activities, make sure tooling and parts are available, assemble and integrate hardware using drawings and schematics, and execute functional/performance tests. When something doesn’t behave as expected, you troubleshoot, document, and work closely with engineers to solve issues quickly and properly.

Your work typically covers four areas:

Planning & preparation

• Define the right sequence of AIT tasks and set daily/weekly priorities.

• Estimate lead times and required effort (man-hours), and translate this into practical work plans.

• Identify required parts, materials and outsourcing needs; request quotes where needed.

• Order parts and reserve materials/tools via the technical warehouse.

Manufacturing, assembly, integration & testing

• Build, assemble and integrate satellite (sub) systems based on drawings, schematics and procedures.

• Integrate subsystems into higher-level configurations and check mechanical/electrical compatibility.

• Execute functional and performance tests using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and relevant test benches.

• Troubleshoot anomalies, record results, and coordinate fixes together with engineers.

Quality & documentation

• Work according to quality control procedures and safety protocols at all times.

• Apply relevant standards and ways of working (e.g., IPC-3 and ECSS-aligned processes).

• Keep documentation accurate and consistent with the “as-built” configuration.

Collaboration & continuous improvement

• Work closely with engineers and other technicians in a multidisciplinary environment.

• Contribute ideas to improve AIT processes, test setups, and daily ways of working.

You are a hands-on, structured technician who enjoys building and testing complex hardware and who takes pride in doing it right the first time.

You bring

• Experience as a technician in assembly/integration/testing (e.g., aerospace, electronics, mechatronics, high-tech manufacturing).

• Ability to read and work from technical drawings, schematics and documentation.

• A careful, methodical working style with strong documentation discipline.

• A proactive mindset: you spot issues early, communicate clearly, and take ownership.

• Availability for a full-time (40 hours/week) role.

Nice to have (RF focus)

• Experience with RF hardware or RF testing (e.g., RF chains, connectors/cabling, RF test setups).

• Familiarity with working in procedure-driven environments and quality standards (IPC / ECSS ways of working).

You will work with activities such as soldering, sharp edges, materials/fumes and Li-ion batteries. Safe working practices and following procedures consistently are essential.
