Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager
Tree Composites is looking for a Project Manager for our biggest R&D project yet. Do you want to join a green cause? Can you help us bring structure to a challenging project blending academic research and start-up dynamics?
Tree Composites aims to accelerate offshore wind deployment. We are designing and manufacturing composite joints for offshore wind foundations that enable faster manufacturing and lower steel use. We are a start-up, founded in 2020 to bring our disruptive technology from TU Delft research to the market. Our office can be found in The Buccaneer, the offshore & energy accelerator in Delft.
We have been granted a 5m+ subsidy for Wrap Node-II, a project that’s focused on making the composite joint ready for (pre) commercial implementation. We will execute extensive large- and full-scale component tests and build a jacket structure to showcase the functionality of joints in an actual system. We are looking for a project manager that will manage the workload of Tree Composites and work closely with a TU-Delft research group to ensure project success.
Your responsibilities
- – Manage the Wrap Node-II project, guaranteeing that all project deliverables are completed with high quality, on schedule, and within the allocated budget.
- – Plan and align the work of the project team, work closely together with our partners in the Wrap Node consortium (university + commercial partners).
- – Support the team in the use of project management tools.
Your background
- – You have at least 4 years of working experience as a project manager, preferably in academics, research, R&D, engineering, construction, or offshore (wind) projects.
- – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred. Candidates with a non-engineering education are welcome, provided they demonstrate a technical and/or engineering affinity or background in – their cover letter.
- – You bring expertise and knowledge on the right project management tools to use for the job.
- – Formal PM training (like PME, Prince, Agile, etc.) is preferred but not required.
- – A genuine interest in and enthusiasm for planning is essential.
- – You prefer completing tasks to initiating new ones and have a strong drive to ‘get things done.’ You excel in introducing and maintaining structure.
- – You are fluent in English. Fluency in Dutch is not required.
- – A valid European Union work permit is required for this position
