Summary StatementThe seasonal park maintenance position will be responsible for assisting maintenance staff with all aspects of maintaining the park grounds and its facilities. This will include, but not be limited to, mowing grass, weeding and mulching landscape beds, pruning/trimming, picking up and removing trash, cleaning restrooms, the cleaning and repair of structures, and participation in projects involving carpentry, and welding work.
The employee will be required to work outside, around water and boats, in extreme weather conditions, and in areas involving heights. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Some duties may vary for each facility. This position is required to operate light duty equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers and other lawn equipment. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled.
Functions
- May perform grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, athletic field maintenance, landscape bed maintenance, trash removal, vegetation removal, leaf removal and snow/ice removal.
- May perform custodial services in restrooms, offices and other buildings.
- Provide customer services by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, needs and complaints, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas.
- Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Maintenance – Custodial/Grounds
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools. (Grounds only)
- Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving.

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
