Position Summary
The Seasonal Meter Technician will be responsible for the removal and replacement of water meters and transmitters with advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) cellular water meters and transmitters. The technician will work to ensure accurate and efficient meter installations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This is a highly important project initiative for Del‑Co to complete meter transition upgrades.

Classification: Temporary
Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday–Friday
Duration: May 2026 – August 2026
Location: Delaware, OH
Rate: $16.75 – $18.46 per hour
Essential Duties- Remove and replace in‑ground water meters and transmitters
- Test new meters to ensure they are working and communicating properly with the system
- Inform customers about the meter change and answer any questions when required
- Follow safety guidelines while installing meters and handling equipment
- Keep accurate records of meter installations and any issues encountered
- Clean, maintain, and operate equipment, tools, and trucks
- Other duties as assigned
- Desire to work outdoors and ability to perform meter installations with minimum supervision
- Enjoys hands‑on physical work combined with leveraging technical skills
- Knowledge of various hand and power tools and motorized equipment for general repair and maintenance work is preferred
- Strong computer skills with general experience using Microsoft Office, iPads, or electronic tablets; aptitude to quickly learn new technologies is required
- Detail‑oriented, organized, reliable, and able to work under minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- Perform basic math, maintain accurate records, and handle multiple tasks
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
