Purpose
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge, experience, and skills to effectively represent the company with large or complex customers. Understands customer needs and identifies appropriate products and services to meet those needs. Participates in a leadership role by helping train and develop less experienced sales team members and may act in a Sales Manager capacity when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent the company throughout the sales process by gathering customer needs and design specifications and acting as a liaison between internal technical/design teams and customers to develop sales proposals
- Handle complex or highly specialized customer requirements with professionalism and expertise
- Develop sales contracts for residential, multi-family, and commercial projects by collecting specifications from engineers or architects and communicating requirements and changes to internal teams
- Troubleshoot complex or difficult field issues
- Plan and deliver effective sales presentations to current and prospective customers, demonstrating products and services and explaining how solutions meet customer needs
- Research, identify, and solicit new customers through market research, competitive analysis, and demonstration of product and service benefits
- Keep customers informed on product offerings and service updates, ensuring alignment with current and future requirements
- Take on leadership responsibilities such as chairing meetings, supporting sales management functions, and mentoring less experienced sales representatives
- Provide training and development support to junior outside sales representatives
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and documentation as required by management
- Expand sales, product, and industry knowledge through company-sponsored training and, when applicable, serve as a presenter
- Manage workload efficiently to meet daily, weekly, project-based, and team productivity goals
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and participate in safety meetings as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field and two (2) years of prior sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and customer information

- Excellent presentation skills, including explaining complex information to non-technical audiences
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills, including engagement with senior-level customer stakeholders
- Ability to coach, train, and develop less experienced sales professionals
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent office software
- Valid driver’s license
Work Environment / Physical Activity
- Combination of office and field environments with varying weather and temperature conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally
- Regular travel to customer and company locations
