Job Title: Administrative, Volunteer & Events Coordinator
Location: Delaware, OH – Hybrid with in-office and community event requirements
Employment Type: Full-time, 36–40 hours/week
About VCAS:At Veteran Companion Animal Services (VCAS), we rescue dogs to rescue veterans. Our mission is to improve the lives of veterans by providing them with companion dogs while creating a supportive community for both. We are a growing nonprofit, and we are looking for a passionate team member to join us in making a real difference in the lives of veterans and their dogs.
Position Overview:We are seeking an organized, proactive, and energetic Administrative, Volunteer & Events Coordinator to join our team. This full-time role combines administrative support, volunteer coordination, and community event planning to ensure smooth daily operations, strong volunteer engagement, and successful execution of VCAS outreach events. You will be a key member of our team, supporting the President/CEO, the Board of Directors, and volunteers while helping share VCAS’s mission with the community.
Key Responsibilities:Administrative Support
- Support the President/CEO with calendar management, correspondence, and Board-related tasks
- Serve as the main point of contact for visitors, phone calls, mail, and email
- Maintain donor records and assist with development activities
- Manage office organization, supplies, and document processing
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of volunteers
- Serve as the primary contact for volunteers supporting community events and organizational initiatives
- Equip, train, and appreciate volunteers, including organizing a Volunteer Thank You event
- Track volunteer data and provide ongoing support and feedback
- Plan and execute VCAS community outreach events such as fairs, awareness events, and local gatherings
- Recruit and manage volunteer teams for events, ensuring smooth setup, staffing, and logistics
- Assess event effectiveness and provide recommendations for future participation
- Assist with marketing, social media, thank-you letters, press releases, and other communications
- Experience in administrative support, volunteer coordination, and community event planning
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with technology including donor databases, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and volunteer platforms
- Flexible schedule to attend some evenings or weekends for community events
- Passion for serving veterans and commitment to the VCAS mission
