Job Title:
Lab Technician The lab technician will play a crucial role in a QC adhesives manufacturing lab, conducting hands-on quality testing in a chemistry lab environment. This role requires knowledge of laboratory equipment, especially those related to finished material testing, and a thorough understanding of product catalog, processes, and customer requirements. The technician will participate in testing and verifying finished goods, identifying product and process failures, conducting audits, and engaging in continual improvement activities.
- Test and verify all finished materials according to Test Procedures/SOPs.
- Determine if materials can be adjusted based on control plans and FMEAs.
- Write directions for batch adjustments clearly and concisely.
- Assist in identifying and documenting non-conforming materials.
- Maintain manual product quality files for raw materials or finished goods.
- Perform statistical analysis on finished goods to confirm process control.
- Observe production processes to ensure adherence to written instructions.
- Participate in SPC and testing method improvements.
- Assist Quality Manager/Sr QC Technician with small material quality issues.
- Recommend process improvements to eliminate rework and poor product quality.
- Perform housekeeping tasks, including cleaning equipment and maintaining organization.
- Conduct line audits, dock audits, and work order staging as needed.
- Verify work orders, packaging tickets, and ensure proper labeling of finished goods.
- Test and verify all incoming materials and prepare necessary reports.
- Handle chemicals safely and wear required PPE.
- Participate in inventory control activities, including labeling and cycle counting.
- Manage document control by filing required documents into the ERP system.
- Participate in improvement processes and training activities.
- Great communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry).
- Attention to detail and focus.
- 0-2 years of industry experience performing chemistry lab testing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work well in a manufacturing environment.
- Capability to communicate effectively across departments.
- Background in QC in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of QC requirements.
- Experience with equipment such as viscosity, FTIR, UV-vis, DSC.
The lab is located in a small space off the main building in the manufacturing and production area. The technician will work closely with the production team, a technical leader, a chemist, and three other technicians. The culture is focused, open, relaxed, friendly, and welcoming. The dress code is casual (jeans allowed), with appropriate PPE provided. Work hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:30 am to 5 pm, and 7 am to 11 am every third Friday, which is mandatory overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delaware, OH.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
