The Manager Trainee is a full‑time, entry‑level position designed to prepare you for a leadership role within 84 Lumber. This role offers hands‑on training across all aspects of store operations with the goal of promotion to a management position. Within the first 6‑12 months, you may be promoted based on performance and availability, which can lead to up to a 40% increase in annual pay.

Many Manager Trainees progress to General Manager roles within 3‑4 years.

• Sales and Customer Service:
  Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment.
• Store Operations and Inventory Management:
  Oversee material/supply chain flow, stock, and merchandising.
• Blueprint Reading and Estimation:
  Create material estimates for building projects.
• Forklift Operation and Certification:
  Safe handling of materials and equipment.
• Business Management:
  Payroll, invoicing, inventory, and financial analysis.
• Microsoft Office Suite:
  Enhance and refine skills through comprehensive training.

• Payroll, invoicing, inventory, and POS system management.
• Interpret and analyze common financial reports.
• Read blueprints and create material lists.
• Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Full‑time schedule (48+ hours/week, overtime included).
• No experience required – bring dedication and willingness to learn.

Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, assisting customers in all weather conditions (wet, humid, hot, cold). Requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 80 pounds). May work around machinery and airborne particles.
