Objectives
Preservation Parks of Delaware County is on a mission to protect and conserve our natural resources while encouraging outdoor exploration. We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Park Officer to join our team and help ensure the safety, protection, and enjoyment of our beautiful parks.
Job Standards- Certified Ohio Peace Officer or currently attending OPOTA Police Academy
- Valid driver’s license
- 21 years of age or older
- Patrol & Protect:
Ensure the safety of park visitors and the preservation of park resources and facilities. - Enforce & Educate:
Uphold Park rules, regulations, and the Ohio Revised Code while educating visitors. - Inspect & Prevent:
Conduct inspections of park grounds, buildings, and facilities to identify and address safety hazards and manage human-wildlife conflicts. - Report & Testify:
Issue citations for rule violations, prepare detailed reports, and testify in court as needed. - Engage & Inform:
Respond to public inquiries, explain park rules and provide information to enhance visitors’ park experiences. - Community Involvement:
Participate in public programs and community events, representing Preservation Parks with pride. - Collaborate:
Work alongside other Delaware County law enforcement agencies to ensure comprehensive public safety.

: OPERS Law Enforcement Retirement, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, preventative health program, paid vacation (determined by years in OPERS), personal time, sick leave, and 11 holidays. - Salary Step Program – Lateral Officers Accepted
- Step 1 – $29.00 hourly; $60,320 annual
- Step 2 – $30.76 hourly; $63,981 annual
- Step 3 – $32.52 hourly; $67,642 annual
- Step 4 – $34.28 hourly; $71,302 annual
- Step 5 – $36.04 hourly; $74,963 annual
- Step 6 – $37.81 hourly; $78,645 annual
