  • Interpret thermodynamics calculations, CFD analysis, and energy code compliance reports.
  • Develop comprehensive thermal system schematic designs.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for mechanical integration, compatibility studies, and design reviews.
  • Participate in and support updates to the standards playbook for all stakeholders.
  • Help clarify and adapt existing Vertiv guidelines for system relevance and implementation, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross‑functional design reviews and coordinate with engineering and product management teams across business units.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in mechanical design.
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing during production and testing.
  • Support pre‑sales team in solution development, quotations, and customer presentations.
  • Manage multiple ongoing projects and shift tasks as needed.
  • Work directly with procurement and material vendors on component sourcing and selection.
  • Mentor and advise design work of other team members.
Requirements
  • BSME or equivalent; master’s degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of HVAC design experience for new product development, preferably in IT infrastructure or related industries.
  • Familiarity with mechanical safety and regulatory standards (ASME, ASHRAE, ANSI, OSHA, ISO, ISTA, IEC 60364, and building/energy codes).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, specifically with Creo; experience with Revit and AutoCAD a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and create HVAC construction drawings and specifications.
  • Preferred understanding of current energy codes.
  • Ability to research new designs, technologies, and thermal‑mechanical construction methods for data center equipment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Works independently, highly motivated, and proactively accepts new challenges.
