This role supervises a team of technicians while actively performing maintenance on automated systems, conveyors, robotics, and sortation equipment. This role combines leadership with technical expertise, ensuring safe, efficient operations and minimal downtime. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems, coaching team members, supporting onboarding, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems, conveyors, robotics, and sortation equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Execute repairs and adjustments during operational hours and maintenance windows.
- Ensure all work complies with safety and operational standards.
- Document repairs and maintenance activities accurately in the system.
- Coach technicians on troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
- Assist in onboarding new team members and ensure technical competency.
- Supervise and support a team of maintenance technicians during daily operations.
- Provide technical guidance and act as the first point of escalation for complex issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and proper maintenance practices.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 10+ years of hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance or automation systems.
- Experience supervising or leading a technical team.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Hands‑on leader with a proactive approach.
- Strong technical expertise and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Travel required up to 10%.
- Passport or ability to obtain passport.
- Professional office etiquette is required at all times.
- Physical requirements:
sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
