Overview

This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients from six (6) months to the geriatric population.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and asthma.
  • Interpret electrocardiograms and laboratory test results accurately.
  • Promote disease prevention through risk assessment, coaching, and counseling skills.
  • Complete Annual Medicare Wellness physicals in accordance with Beebe Medical Group policy and Medicare guidelines.
  • Handle unexpected emergent medical situations appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, co-workers and healthcare providers.
  • Exhibit an energetic, compassionate, efficient work ethic with strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working at other Primary Care locations within Beebe Medical Group as necessary.
Qualifications
  • 2 - 4 years' experience.
  • Prefer experience in Family Medicine practice.
Competencies Skills
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Excellent patient education and counseling abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume patient load.
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
Credentials
  • Valid and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the practicing state.
  • Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • DEA registration for prescribing medications (if required).
Education

Essential:
Master?s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
