Job Description

Summer Camp Instructors deliver curriculum-based, hands-on environmental, agricultural, and cultural education activities that embody our core values of Respect, Stewardship, Collaboration, Inclusion, and Integrity. Instructors work with children aged 3 to 15 at camps held at Ashland Nature Center and Coverdale Farms Preserve. Themes are chosen based on instructor interest and expertise and may include subjects such as cooking, arts & games, nature exploration, farm chores, paddle sports, and more.

Activities take place rain or shine, with exceptions for extreme or unsafe weather conditions, and are conducted both indoors and outdoors. The time commitment for this position varies based on camp needs and the applicant’s availability.

Reporting & Compensation

Summer Camp Instructors report to the Education/Program Coordinator or Manager. The compensation ranges from $16/hr to $19/hr based on experience. This seasonal position is paid hourly on a twice-monthly schedule, with all applicable federal and state taxes withheld. A 30-minute unpaid meal break is required daily.
