Sussex Campus Hospital

Full Time 80 Hours

Day/ Evening

17.83 - 26.75 HOURLY

Assists in planning and performing a wide variety of activities related to the care and development of children - age 8 weeks to 5 years.

• Provides and maintains safe, healthy, and organized classrooms throughout the Center.
• Maintains the care and well-being of the children throughout the Center.
• Assists classroom teacher in planning and conducting age-appropriate activities for children.
• Assist with monitoring tracking of children’s developmental assessment goals and objectives.
• Proactively assists with other assignments, as needed.
• Gives special attention and caring toward Center children and meeting child care needs.
• Promotes children’s wellness by following Center Sick Guidelines and Standard Precautions.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED ;
  Also requires:
  Successful completion and certificate of Training in Early Care and Education, (TECE 1 and TECE
  2) ~ OR ~ Successful completion of a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) ~ OR ~ Successful completion of a traditional high school career pathway program in early childhood education accepted by DOE.
• Credential(s):
  Delaware Educator Data System Certification Heartsaver - Within 60 days, if not already obtained.
• Experience:
  
  Required:
  
  Six months’ experience working with preschool age or younger children in a group setting.

• Education:
  
  Associate Degree Early Childhood Education Or Associate's Degree in child development.
• Credential(s):
• Experience:
  
  Preferred:
  At least one year working with young children in a Child Care Center or school setting
