HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT
Electric Operations Coordinator
Pay Grade: 6
The City of Milford is seeking applicants for the position of Electric Operations Coordinator.
Applicants must have 18-24 months’ experience coordinating the scheduling of site, utility, field testing, material purchasing, and provision of price quotes in a business to-business environment.
Minimum
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; credit toward relevant coursework with accredited college or university preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Direct Supervisor:
Electric Director
- Coordination and Scheduling:
- Coordinates scheduling for maintenance and inspection
- Schedules electric and water meter installations.
- Schedules all aspects of construction, inspections, and testing for infrastructure projects.
- Acts as a scribe in pre-construction meetings, confirms attendance and contact information, and maintains action item lists.
- Outage Management:
- Supports outage-related activities, including receiving trouble and outage calls, tracking and maintaining outage data for internal and external reporting.
- Crafts scripts for call messages based on construction schedules and maintenance activities, including utility projects and planned outages.
- Project Support:
- Assists in preparing price quotes for infrastructure projects and tracks them through the Finance Department.
- Creates and maintains work orders and documents records for all projects.
- Assists in the as-built process to ensure infrastructure records are properly updated.
- Assists with data collection for grant applications and supports project managers in tracking and reporting grant obligations.
- Contract and Compliance Management:
- Receives and forwards surety documents, maintains bonding schedules, and coordinates the exchange and release of bonds and letters of credit.
- Tracks and maintains development agreements, third-party contracts, leases, and goods and services contracts.
- Maintains the control number list for electrical inspections;
- Processes utility permit applications and service requests, coordinates on-site meetings, and follows up on open issues.
- Communication and Public Relations:
- Gathers information and prepares reports for public information captions and announcements on the city's website and social media.
- Supports supervisory response to public inquiries.
- Serves as a representative for the Electric Department during special events, including preparing materials.
- Administrative and Backup Support:
- Provides general administrative support to the operations team.
- Serves as backup to the Public Works Coordinator and Infrastructure Coordinator, including payroll processing and other duties as defined.
- Performs related work as required.
- Emergency Response:
- Assists in various duties after hours required, including on call, special events, and weather-related emergencies.
