Position: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

Ava Med Workforce is a Healthcare Staffing Agency that staffs all of California State Correctional Facilities. At the moment we are in URGENT need of a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor to take on a Full-Time assignment at the correctional facility located in Delano, CA.

Position Details
  • 40 Hours per week

  • Schedule:

    Tuesday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm
  • Rate: $62/hr ($2,480/week
    )
  • Status:
    Independent Contractor 1099

Must have a license from the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)

Position Summary

Provides mental health services within LPCC scope of practice in accordance with institutional policies, under the supervision of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker or designee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-call consultation, crisis intervention, and emergency mental health services as scheduled
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, suicide risk assessments, and mental status exams (MSE)
  • Diagnose, document, and develop individualized treatment and discharge plans
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and in-person clinical interviews
  • Review electronic medical records, custody files, court records, and other relevant documentation
  • Monitor patient progress and complete required documentation using approved formats
  • Participate in and/or lead interdisciplinary treatment team (IDTT) and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Coordinate patient transitions, discharge planning, pre-release services, and community referrals
  • Provide health education, entitlement assistance, and community resource linkage
  • Prepare written reports and consult with institutional staff and Board of Prison Hearings as required
  • Maintain safety, security, mandated reporting compliance, and ethical standardsli>
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, committees, and program development
