Career and Technical Education Teacher (1.0 FTE) - Delano High School
Delano High School (DHS) is looking for a dedicated professional with a focus on student achievement and reflective growth to assist our team as a Career and Technical Education Teacher. The successful candidate will make a positive contribution to improving student academic and social/emotional behaviors in support of our mission. The successful candidate may teach a variety of trimester long courses ranging from Introduction to Woods, Introduction to Metals, Basic Furniture Construction, and Career/Life Prep.
Courses taught will be determined after the candidate has been selected and will be based on the candidate's strengths and background in coordination with other teachers on the technology education team. Teachers are encouraged to flexibly approach their curriculum to make learning engaging and relevant for students.
DHS offers the flexibility in schedule and FTE status to meet the needs of potential candidates.

- Collaborate with school and district staff to acquire and/or create a highly effective and rigorous curriculum.
- Effectively create and deliver daily lessons and provide needed support for students to achieve learning objectives and broader learning goals.
- Maintain and report accurate student attendance and performance records
- Collaborate effectively with school and district staff as part of a department team and other leadership committees.
- Effectively deploy classroom management strategies in support of positive school and classroom culture and climate
- Uses flexible thinking and has the adaptability to address student needs and respond calmly during crisis situations.
- Communicate with parents in a timely manner. Maintain positive and constructive communication with students, staff, parents, and community.
- Work collaboratively with parents and other staff members to reinforce the educational program and advocate for each student.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide effective teaching strategies while adhering to the district philosophy and vision.
- Create a classroom environment that responds to the needs of individual learners.
- Translate lesson plans into learning experience in a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Required:
- An appropriate MN professional teaching license (CTE-Construction Careers) or the ability to attain one.
The position will remain open until March 20, 2026.
