Overview
The SPED Teacher will create a supportive learning environment to help students meet their learning goals using diverse methods, strategies to reach IEP goals, and access to grade-level curriculum. They oversee student progress by tracking assignments and exams to provide useful feedback. WCPA teachers are results-driven educators with experience in and commitment to standards-based curriculum and the use of data and assessments to drive instructional decisions.

Demonstrates commitment to the community by communicating regularly with families and attending key community events
- Bachelor's Degree, required
- A California Education Specialist Credential (mild/mod); PIP/STSP/waivers will be considered
- Familiarity with and/or the ability to learn SIRUS, IEP writing, and Special Ed Reporting Software
- Familiarity with and/or the ability to learn RTI, co-teaching, collaboration, Push-In, Pull-out, Learning Lab Intervention, and small-group teaching models
- Demonstrated mastery of classroom skills, including classroom management, planning, assessment, and instructional practice
- Proficiency with various technologies and teaching tools
- Bilingual ability preferred
- Preparing and implementing lesson plans that lead to student understanding based on state standards
- Providing an effective learning environment that reflects and facilitates student achievement
- Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records
- Writing and conducting IEPs and facilitating IEP meetings
- Proctoring Formal Assessments
- Updating service logs and files
- Communicating with partnering agencies
- Participating in SST Meetings
- Maintaining frequent communication with students, students' families, colleagues, and leadership
- Participating regularly in professional development opportunities
- Adequately communicating and interacting with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work
- Attending and participating in staff meetings, and extra-curricular/school-related activities, and committees
- Demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional growth and working with administrators to formulate and complete professional development plans
- Maintaining a professional appearance and demonstrating behavior that is conscientious and responsible
- Environment:
School environment; fast-paced work, constant interruptions - Physical requirements:
Hearing and speaking to exchange information, make presentations and communicate over the telephone; seeing to read, prepare, and proofread documents and view computer monitors; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies;
lifting light objects; ability to go to sites apart from primary office to conduct business
Pay Range: $68,969.96 - $. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
