Position: Interim Associate Director of the Bonner Program TT3209

The Center for Community Engagement at Stetson University seeks an experienced Bonner Program professional to serve as Interim Associate Director for the Spring 2026 semester. This interim position will focus exclusively on maintaining the excellence and continuity of the Bonner Program during a transitional period.

The Bonner Program is part of a national network that combines students' academic and career goals with meaningful community engagement through research, internships, and capstone projects. Currently, more than 60 Bonner students intern 8-10 hours per week with local nonprofit and government partners while participating in professional development and leadership training.

This interim position includes a fully furnished 1‑bedroom, 1‑bathroom apartment – your comfortable home base for the semester. Focus on meaningful work with passionate students and community partners while enjoying the Florida lifestyle. Job Functions and Responsibilities

Employment duties include, but are not limited to:

The Interim Associate Director will maintain core Bonner Program operations with a focus on three priority areas:

  • Bonner Student Support & Retention
    • Provide success coaching and mentoring to 60+ Bonner students, supporting their academic and personal goals
    • Build trust and positive relationships through intentional outreach, regular meetings, and proactive communication
    • Monitor student progress and provide resources to support retention and persistence
    • Supervise and support the Bonner student leadership team, particularly Student Program Coordinators
    • Facilitate weekly professional development and leadership training sessions
  • Community Partner Relationships
    • Maintain strong working relationships with জনנס 20+ nonprofit and government community partners
    • Match Bonner students with capacity‑building internship opportunities aligned with their academic and career goals
    • Conduct partner site visits and address any partnership needs or concerns
    • Ensure quality placements that benefit both students and community organizations
    • Support partners in maximizing the impact of Bonner student contributions
  • Day‑to‑Day Program Operations
    • Oversee daily Bonner Program operations and ensure continuity of services
    • Coordinate and facilitate Bonner training curriculum and enrichment activities
    • Manage student employment budgets and program fiscal operations
    • Plan and execute spring semester Bonner cornerstone activities (e.g., Junior Capstones, Senior Presentations of Learning)
    • Supervise Bonner student employees and graduate assistants
    • Collaborate with the CCE Director and staff on strategic priorities
    • Maintain communication with the Bonner Foundation regarding program operations
  • Perform other site and position specific functions as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of community engagement and service‑learning principles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and community partners
  • Proven organizational and time‑management abilities
  • Commitment to social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion

Required Qualifications
  • Direct experience with the Bonner Program – must be familiar with Bonner program structure, philosophy, and operations
  • Experience in student development, mentoring, or higher education newspudi
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Previous Bonner Program coordinator, director, or leadership experience
  • Familiarity with the Bonner Foundation network and national initiatives
  • Experience managing nonprofit community partnerships
  • Knowledge of capacity‑buildingуюць community‑engaged learning best practices
  • Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, nonprofit management, or related field

Pay Grade: 6

Work authorization sponsorship may be available for this position. However, sponsorship is contingent upon the non‑applicability of the visa petition fees outlined in the relevant Executive Order signed September 19 2025. Due to the recent federally‑mandated increased financial expense, the university is not in a position to absorb the significantly increased cost of sponsorship for new H‑1B petitions at this time.
