In this position, you will serve as a Security Specialist, overseeing the implementation of programs and policies related to Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Physical Security and Communications Security (COMSEC), Facilities and Emergency Preparedness.
Responsibilities- Assisting in maintenance of personnel security records.
- Conducting appropriate Special Compartmented Information (SCI) briefings/debriefings for cleared personnel.
- Making independent technical judgments regarding the interpretation and implementation of existing security procedures, and determining major security program policy and operational decisions.
- Serving as Communications Security (COMSEC)/Top Secret Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Manager; safeguarding, accounting for, and, when necessary, destroying TOP SECRET COMSEC material, cryptographic communication, keying material, and equipment.
- Providing advice and guidance to supervisors, managers, and employees on complex physical security matters concerning the integrity of the Special Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
- Participating in additional selections for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty locations, as appropriate.
- Meeting any required promotion potential, noting that it does not guarantee promotion.

- Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
- All pre-employment processes conducted in English.
- May be required to pass a background investigation.
- Compliance with CBP’s Drug‑Free Workplace Plan for drug testing.
- Obligation to adhere to all executive branch ethics rules and CBP-specific ethics rules.
- Employment subject to E‑Verify.
- Top Secret/SCI clearance required.

- Potential eligibility for relocation incentive under agency policy.
- GS‑12
: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, performing duties such as interpreting legislation and developing internal security programs. - GS‑13
: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, performing duties such as providing SCI briefings, managing SCI administrative actions, and serving as a program coordinator for TS/SCI facilities.
