Overview
Alkemi Metal Finishing – Hawarden is seeking an experienced Powder Coating Specialist to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality powder‑coated finishes across a range of metal components, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to company standards. This is a hands‑on role requiring technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
An immediate start is available.
- Prepare metal components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and inspection.
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and curing ovens.
- Apply powder coatings to achieve consistent, high‑quality finishes in line with customer specifications.
- Monitor coating thickness, colour accuracy, and surface quality throughout production.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe handling of materials and PPE usage.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Proven experience working in a powder coating environment.
- Strong understanding of powder coating processes, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to identify surface defects and apply corrective measures.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop or industrial setting.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time‑management and organisational skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive work ethic.
- Experience with pre‑treatment processes (e.g., blasting, degreasing).
- Knowledge of different powder types and curing requirements.
- Forklift licence or experience handling large metal components.
- Experience working to ISO or similar quality standards.
- Full‑time position based at our Hawarden facility.
