Overview

Alkemi Metal Finishing – Hawarden is seeking an experienced Powder Coating Specialist to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality powder‑coated finishes across a range of metal components, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to company standards. This is a hands‑on role requiring technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

• Prepare metal components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and inspection.
• Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and curing ovens.
• Apply powder coatings to achieve consistent, high‑quality finishes in line with customer specifications.
• Monitor coating thickness, colour accuracy, and surface quality throughout production.
• Maintain equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe handling of materials and PPE usage.
• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment.

• Proven experience working in a powder coating environment.
• Strong understanding of powder coating processes, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to identify surface defects and apply corrective measures.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop or industrial setting.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong time‑management and organisational skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive work ethic.
• Experience with pre‑treatment processes (e.g., blasting, degreasing).
• Knowledge of different powder types and curing requirements.
• Forklift licence or experience handling large metal components.
• Experience working to ISO or similar quality standards.
