Dental Health Support Worker

Role Summary

Support and assist the Oral Health Educator (OHE) in implementing and monitoring Oral Health Promotion programmes across a variety of settings such as Designed to Smile, Older Persons programmes, schools and community settings including care homes.

• Communicate with patients to gain consent for Oral Health programmes.
• Order and monitor the use of Oral Health Promotion resources under guidance of the OHE.
• Act as a member of the Oral Health Improvement team, conducting delegated tasks related to Oral Health Promotion activities and adopting a community development approach.
• Assist OHE staff in developing departmental resources to support the delivery of the Oral Health Promotion programme.
• Assist OHEs with administrative and basic computer tasks.
• Visit participating schools and other sites at various locations, using health board and other vehicles to travel between sites and transport stock and items.
• Travel between sites in a timely manner as required.
• Speak Welsh is desirable;
  English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
