The Deerfield Park District is seeking a part-time seasonal Facilities and Aquatics Maintenance Worker to join our Parks Department. This seasonal position runs from April through early September

This position plays a key role in maintaining aquatic facilities, community centers, and park buildings, with a strong focus on pool operations and water quality.
Responsibilities- Maintain aquatic facilities, community centers, and park buildings, with a strong focus on pool operations and water quality.
- Perform chemical testing of pools to ensure balanced and safe water chemistry.
- Perform daily pool maintenance including monitoring filters, cleaning baskets, backwashing systems, and vacuuming.
- Maintain proper knowledge of all cleaning equipment, tools, and their designated storage locations.
- Assist with general maintenance of parks, buildings, and shelters.
- Perform custodial duties including cleaning floors, bathrooms, windows, and food surfaces.
- Learn pool mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components.
- Be a fast learner with the ability to quickly understand procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
- Be a strong team player who can also work independently when needed.
- Commit to following all Deerfield Park District safety policies and procedures.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to perform chemical testing of pools to ensure balanced and safe water chemistry.
- Ability to perform daily pool maintenance including monitoring filters, cleaning baskets, backwashing systems, and vacuuming.
- Willingness to learn pool mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components.
- Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
- Ability to maintain proper knowledge of all cleaning equipment, tools, and their designated storage locations.
Season: April through early September
Hours: 7 am – 3:30 pm, Wednesday – Sunday
Pay Rate: $18–$19 per hour
