Role SummaryThe Manager, US Payroll will provide leadership for operational and day‑day payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees supporting multiple legal entities in all 50 states. The role acts as a relationship manager to cross‑functional teams including Payroll Services, HR Shared Services, Finance, and Tax Filing. It handles complex and/or sensitive payroll requests, works in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment while meeting all deadlines, and oversees weekly payroll processing for exempt, non‑exempt, and hourly workers.
Responsibilities- Drive implementation of payroll strategies and continually monitor effectiveness.
- Accountable дос the partnership with our HR service provider for payroll and time‑keeping to ensure alignment with the broader HR Tech roadmap and Vantive’s HR and Business priorities.
- Continuously assess payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions; identify and recommend updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures.
- Develop close working relationships with internal partners such as Finance & Accounting, Benefits, IT, etc. to quickly resolve issues and handle special requests.
- Consult with management and provide expertise on a variety of payroll issues.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the US payroll model and team dynamics; lead efforts to realign/refocus as needed. Coordinate workload in line with SLAs by organizing, prioritizing, and making effective workload allocation decisions.
- Lead payroll activities associated with acquisitions, divestitures, and other organizational changes.
- Ensure operations are performed in compliance with company policies, country, state/proხდ, and local laws and are aligned with Sarbanes‑Oxley Act (SOX). Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Support special projects and impromptu reporting (e.g., annual grant and subsidy requests for Finance and/or Legal subpoena). Take part in special projects upon request.
- Compile, process, and audit special payrolls related to LTI, Flexible Worker Arrangements, and Relocation.
- Maintain security updates to 3rd‑party vendor solutions for Equifax (separated or on‑leave employees):
Paperless Pay, The Work Number, and My Tax Forms. - Monitor industry payroll trends, initiate discussions on relevance to the company, and drive initiatives to implement these trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR डेट etc. or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of payroll or HR experience with a deep understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
- Understanding of HR operating environments and exposure to applicable state‑specific legal processing requirements.
- Strong background in Workday payroll processing and time‑keeping system experience (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, process, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to effectively address customer concerns while maintaining adherence to standards.
