Job Summary

Responsible for end-to-end inventory, forecasting, and allocation performance for a high-volume retail portfolio. This role leads strategy and execution across replenishment, supplier performance, demand forecasting, and store and distribution center allocation to ensure optimal availability, strong financial outcomes, and resilient supply continuity. Partnering closely with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and internal planners, this leader drives forecasting accuracy, mitigates supply risks, and ensures execution excellence across new item launches, promotional activity, and seasonal transitions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Owns inventory planning, replenishment strategy, and allocation execution across ~8,000 retail stores and 10 distribution centers.
  • Owns end-to-end replenishment and allocation outcomes for assigned categories, with direct accountability for in-stock performance, sales, margin, and working capital results.
  • Manages allocation and replenishment exceptions proactively to ensure optimal product availability.
  • Acts as the primary inventory and replenishment interface for suppliers in the category portfolio, partnering to ensure reliable, resilient supply performance.
  • Owns supplier on-time and in-full (OTIF) performance, conducting root cause analysis on chronic service failures and driving corrective action with suppliers and internal partners.
  • Identifies, predicts, and mitigates supply disruptions across manufacturing, transportation, capacity, and raw materials to prevent customer impact.
  • Develops and executes mitigation strategies including substitutions, alternate sourcing, and securing constrained inventory.
  • Adjusts replenishment parameters (safety stock, lead times, order cycles, service levels) within enterprise planning systems to optimize availability and efficiency.
  • Adjusts forecasts and forecasting models in Antuit.ai POS forecasting systems to reflect supply realities and execution risks.
  • Owns inventory plans, receipt plans, and promotional and seasonal inventory execution to maximize sell-through and minimize liability.
  • Owns demand forecasting, purchase ordering, and supply readiness for all new item launches to ensure optimal inventory availability and on-time market readiness.
  • Identifies and resolves end-to-end replenishment system defects impacting inventory flow, availability, or sales.
  • Oversees the work output and prioritization of non-employee Allocation Planners, without direct people management responsibility.

Qualifications
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Suite (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in supply chain or MBA.

  • Experience in retail, supply chain, or merchandising analytics

  • Experience in negotiating operational aspects of business and understand the impact these decisions have to the overall company (for example: impact delivery lead time, purchasing minimums, shelf mins, etc. have on in stocks, inventory, & costs)

  • Direct experience with inventory planning and optimization platforms (e.g., Blue Yonder, SAP, Oracle) within a retail environment

  • Knowledge of inventory management practices & definitions, such as safety stock, EOQ, carrying cost, etc.

  • Proficiency in data acquisition, analysis, and manipulation using SQL, R, and Python

  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to drive forecasting decisions

  • Knowledge of costs, deals/terms and/or inventory processes related to Inventory Management in a retail environment.

  • Experience controlling inventory purchases and ensuring proper distribution center inventory levels.
