Position OverviewA growing organization within the healthcare and medical technology sector is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and a strong month‑end close process. This role is hands‑on and integral to day‑to‑day accounting operations, internal controls, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
The Senior Accountant will own key close activities, maintain balance sheet integrity, and support financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role reports to a senior leader within the corporate accounting function.
Key Responsibilities- Own key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Manage balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger transactions
- Ensure accounting documentation meets internal standards for accuracy, authorization, and completeness
- Document procedures in alignment with internal controls and accounting policies
- Support financial statement disclosures related to assigned areas
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
- Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger within an ERP environment
- Communicate anomalies or issues to management and recommend workflow improvements
- Provide backup support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and general accounting activities
- Support ad hoc projects as needed
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA preferred or in progress
Experience
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or high‑growth environments preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with GAAP-based month‑end close processes
- Public accounting or public company audit experience is a plus
