We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Deer Park, Texas. This role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and overseeing manufacturing processes from concept validation through full-scale production.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, hands-on production experience, and a passion for continuous improvement. Experience in safety apparel or related product manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Process Development- Conduct theoretical and physical testing to validate design concepts.
- Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and assembly/work instructions.
- Select appropriate materials and define optimal manufacturing processes.
- Lead new product launches, transitioning smoothly from prototype to mass production.
- Manage pre-production budgets, timelines, and project milestones.
- Oversee integration of new components into the ERP system, including BOMs, routings, and labeling.
- Ensure products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor assembly processes for compliance with market and safety specifications.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements based on testing and feedback.
- Develop and maintain core quality tools such as PFMEA and Control Plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Monitor production schedules and resolve bottlenecks.
- Optimize labor, materials, and resource allocation.
- Lead efficiency and quality improvement initiatives with measurable results.
- Utilize project management tools to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and waste reduction initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Operations, and Quality to streamline workflows.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
- Support ergonomic and workplace safety initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar role.
- Experience in safety apparel, textiles, or related manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing process development and new product introduction (NPI).
- Experience with ERP systems and BOM management.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training is a plus.
- Project management experience is advantageous.
