SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under direct supervision, the Drafter generates detail and assembly drawings utilizing ACAD, SE-8 or SW software, based upon customer requirements and MIBA standards. This includes reverse engineering new and used parts and preparing repair or make-new drawings based upon these parts and applicable standards.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO- Complete repair dispositions on new and used customer supplied bearings and seals.
- Assist Senior Drafter with more complicated assemblies.
- Complete ECO’s based upon marked up prints and/or information supplied by sales.
- Reverse engineer customer supplied parts utilizing precision measuring instruments.
- Must be able to accurately use and read micrometres, callipers, height gages, etc.
- Review work of other department members.
- Generate appropriate drawings for repair of customer supplied parts.
- Generate drawings as required to manufacture new replicated parts.
- Investigate and suggest product and process changes to ensure quality and reduce costs.
- Contribute to meeting productivity, safety and cost challenges.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
- Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
- Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
- Complete and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
- AAS degree or five years related experience.
- Proven competency with 3-D drafting software, preferably Solid Works.
- Proven competency with the suite of Microsoft office software and computers.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated sense of urgency, personable, able to work in a team environment and well organized.
- Must be able to sit for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 20 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC, facsimile machine and photo copier.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives and reassign priorities.
- Must be able to tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Work environment is typically considered within a MIBA location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities. Work environment may also include customer sites including oil well sites and meeting venues.
- The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually loud and approved PPE is required when on the factory floor.
