The Senior Clinician at Burnside PARC (BPARC) is a pivotal leadership role within a short-term residential mental health recovery service. Ideal for an experienced clinician, this role offers the opportunity to lead and support a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, trauma‑informed, and recovery‑oriented care to consumers with complex needs. In partnership with a Mental Health Community Support Service (MHCSS), the Senior Clinician provides advanced clinical oversight, coordinates care, delivers discipline‑specific interventions, and fosters a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
This role directly supports Western Health’s mission to provide Best Care, care that is safe, person‑centred, coordinated and right by enhancing consumer outcomes, service quality, and staff capability. - Provide clinical leadership and mentoring to multidisciplinary staff, ensuring high-quality, recovery‑orientated care
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessment and deliver evidence‑based interventions for consumers with complex needs
- Collaborate closely with the MHCSS partner to coordinate care, support daily routines, and co‑develop individual recovery plans
- Lead or contribute to service development initiatives, and quality improvement projects aligned with best practice standards
- Provide discipline‑specific supervision, support student placements and contribute to staff capability building.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA (for nurses, OTs, and psychologists) or eligibility for Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW membership).
- Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in public mental health, including assessment, risk management, and delivery of evidence‑based interventions.
- For Social Worker applicants - a minimum of 7 years' experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership, support multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Advanced communication, problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to engage effectively with consumers, families, and stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation, professional codes of ethics, and the principles of trauma‑informed and recovery‑focused care.
