We are seeking a QHSE Director to work for one of our most trusted clients, a global chemical company.

The Quality Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Director will optimize all activities associated with the company’s health and safety program. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all occupational safety and health program elements and activities to achieve safety goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with regulatory agency and corporate requirements.
  • Communicate HSE performance and emerging trends to the executive leadership team and lead the development and execution of mitigation strategies to reduce and prevent incidents.
  • Lead efforts in implementing Hazard Reduction and Injury Prevention Projects across the enterprise.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Drive improvements in the organization’s HSE culture, awareness, and accountability, serving as a role model for HSE leadership.
  • Ensure all company’s sites understand and comply with terms and conditions of all chemical, regulatory, and environmental permits.
  • Conduct incident/accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Measure and maintain HSE metrics (Incidence & Injury rate, First Aid Cases, Near Misses, Concern Reporting, Training Completion, Stop Work Cases).
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies concerning all HSE issues.
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science from an accredited university or college;
    Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12+ years of QHSE experience with at least 7 years in the chemical industry.
  • Certifications such as CSP, CEP, Hazpower, ISO, ICSP, and ER are preferred.
  • Experience auditing PSM, RMP, LOTO, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Work Permits, Hazardous Waste, NPDES, Stormwater, SPCC.
