Overview

A Snapshot of Your Day The SGT Mechanical Field Service Representative is a Region North America position reporting to the Gas Turbine Field Service Manager in the Siemens Energy group, based in Deer Park, Texas. The selected candidate is responsible for providing service and technical services for the SGT 100-400 product lines. Services include mechanical disassembly, inspection, reassembly and commissioning during planned or unplanned outages, long-term-service contracts, and any modernizations and upgrades.

The FSR is technically responsible for all facets of the company’s scope of work during equipment installation and/or subsequent service inspections/outages, focusing on SGT 100-400 mechanical service. The successful candidate will also cross-train and be utilized in related product families.

• Maintain the highest level of a zero-harm culture by following and enforcing all company and customer EHS policies and programs.
• Carry out all aspects of mechanical installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of gas turbine packages in Region North America or Canada according to contract and deadlines.
• Plan, perform and coordinate onsite service and maintenance activities. Liaise with project and engineering teams to ensure customer’s expectations are met or exceeded.
• Able to carry out and supervise mechanical aspects of Gas Turbine inspection procedures such as visual inspection, borescope inspection, filter changes, valve servicing including return to service following correct standards and procedures. Maintain an accurate record of activity carried out on site and produce written reports.
• Travel extensively (approximately 80% domestically) and willing to travel internationally (Canada) as opportunities arise; must hold a valid passport and pass required background checks and drug/alcohol testing. International travel may include developing countries.
• Be able to perform duties on day or night shifts under difficult conditions (heat, cold, noise, etc.), travel on short notice, and work weekends and holidays.

• High School diploma or GED that can be verified are required.
• 5-7 years minimum experience as a mechanic on industrial or aeroderivative gas turbines. Previous SGT 100-400 outage experience in Power Generation or Oil and Gas is a plus but not required.
• Familiar with strip/rebuild of rotating mechanical equipment, function of associated equipment and auxiliary air, fuel and oil systems.
• Experience with endoscopic (borescope) inspections and techniques; ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents; familiarity with laser alignment is a plus.
• Strong time management, leadership and organizational skills; ability to write detailed technical reports for engineering review; client-facing negotiating skills are a plus.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and passport.
