Mechanical Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering scope on EPC projects, including both Front‑End Loading (FEL) and detailed design phases.
- Provide hands‑on technical support in mechanical engineering when project workload or staffing requires.
- Prepare and review equipment data sheets, RFQs, RFPs, and bid tabulations for rotating and static equipment.
- Make equipment selection and design decisions for refineries, chemical plants, and process facilities.
- Oversee and review piping stress analysis for complex piping systems.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes and standards, including but not limited to ASME, API, ANSI, PIP, ASHRAE, ASTM, TEMA, AWS, MSS‑SP, OSHA, and NACE.
- Manage and supervise a small team of engineers and designers (typically 2–5), including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and workload distribution.
- Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects, ensuring the right skillsets are assigned to each scope.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery and engineering efficiency.
- Conduct engineering studies, technical evaluations, and prepare formal reports and recommendations.
- Maintain direct communication with clients, internal stakeholders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 10–15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within an EPC environment supporting the petrochemical, refining, or oil & gas industry.
- Strong background in process piping systems, rotating and fixed equipment, equipment design and selection, piping stress analysis, and demonstrated experience preparing purchasing packages and managing vendor interactions.
- Proficiency with mechanical design and piping stress analysis software.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including direct client‑facing interaction.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (no visa sponsorship).
- TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Deep expertise in refinery and chemical plant projects.
- Strong mentoring and team development experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: up to $85 per hour.

Small relocation assistance may be available, up to $10,000. - Work Schedule:
Hybrid—Monday through Thursday on‑site, Friday remote.
