The Sales Associate role is an integral part of the store’s overall success and efficiency: demanding direct attention to our brand commitment when servicing our customers and driving results. Responsible for upholding Coach’s Service and Selling Models, creating a positive first impression, building ongoing customer relationships through a personalized experience, and leaving a positive, lasting impression.

Responsibilities
  • Sales Floor: understand organizational objectives and make decisions aligned with Company priorities; own personal and store metrics and create personal sales and clienteling strategies with management.
  • Create short- and long-term strategies to achieve personal metrics and performance goals.
  • Own personal survey results and create plans to improve opportunities.
  • Represent Coach as a brand ambassador and demonstrate Coach’s Selling and Service expectations at all times.
  • Understand changes in local market and support local sales strategies and tactics.
  • Drive business through sales strategies, clienteling, sourcing new customers, and maintaining productive customer relationships.
  • Present an image aligned with Coach’s Guide to Style; build credibility as a fashion advisor and communicate fashion knowledge and competition awareness.
  • Provide in-depth product knowledge (features, benefits, current offerings, and overall value) and communicate current pricing and promotions.
  • Discuss product features, leverage cross-selling, and encourage relevant add-ons.
  • Be attentive to customers’ needs and tailor approaches accordingly; address unique and individual shopping needs.
  • Work with multiple customers, follow up to influence/close sales, and contribute to store financial results.
  • Build lasting relationships through relationship-building tools and clienteling efforts; foster teamwork and collaboration with customers and colleagues.
  • Remain solution-oriented and adaptable to changing business needs; welcome feedback and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
Operations
  • Ensure daily tasks are completed without negatively impacting service or Coach standards.
  • Complete daily operational tasks including store maintenance, cash wrap, and visual merchandising per Coach standards.
  • Maintain a clean selling floor; adhere to retail policies and procedures (POS, Operations, Asset Protection).
  • Replenish inventory on the sales floor as needed; support store inventory processes (shipping, stocking, organization in stockroom and on the floor).
  • Assist with cash-wrap as needed and process purchases, returns, and exchanges; efficiently handle customer transactions.
  • Prepare the store by organizing functional areas, performing routine cleaning, and maintaining visual merchandising standards.

Additional Requirements
  • Experience:

    1-3 years of sales experience, preferably in a luxury retail service environment; knowledge of fashion trends and market competition.
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Technical:
    Knowledge of POS systems, basic computer skills (iPad/laptop, Mobile POS, Internet), walkie talkie use; ability to read price and product release sheets.
  • Physical:
    Ability to work at a fast pace; communicate effectively; move around the sales floor and stock room; ability to climb, bend, kneel; frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds for shipments and transfers.
  • Schedule:

    Ability to meet scheduling expectations, including flexible hours, nights, weekends, holidays and high retail traffic periods.
