Sales Floor Department Supervisor
All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, you will lead and enable a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store.
Responsibilities- Coaching and training associates, delegating tasks, and following up on daily responsibilities.
- Managing workplace performance and ensuring adequate department coverage.
- Greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales.
- Performing non‑customer‑facing activities such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery.
- Maintaining store safety through safety walks, hazard reporting, and educating associates on lifting and equipment usage.
- Communicating upward with management about concerns, praises, and morale.
- Supervising associates from other departments as needed to meet store demands.
- Occasionally opening or closing the store or serving as manager‑on‑duty (MOD).
May need to travel on occasion for meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores/outlets.
Requirements- Hourly full time: generally 39–40 hours per week; more hours may be required based on store needs.
- Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts on any day of the week.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing or sitting and other activities needed to perform job duties, including lifting 25 pounds without assistance and possibly higher weight with or without assistance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail experience (or 5 years of retail experience).
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
- Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct report responsibility).
- Experience supporting or participating in training, mentoring, and developing associates.
- Experience working cross‑functionally.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as may be required by law.
- 3 years of retail customer service experience.
- 3 years of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers.
- Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.
- Experience working in the home improvement retail sector.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Experience with key carrying role including manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
- Experience using store computer systems such as Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.
$27.80 – $30.05 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
