Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
The Accounting Manager will lead the organization’s accounting operations, oversee high-volume transactional activity, and ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and readiness for audits. This is a hands-on role requiring experience with system conversions, strong accounting skills, and the ability to collaborate directly with the CFO on strategic and operational finance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Oversee high-volume transactional accounting, including wires, invoices, and vendor/customer activity, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Lead accounting system conversions (e.g., Quick Books to new ERP), including data mapping, testing, and implementation.
- Prepare supporting documentation and coordinate with auditors to ensure successful audit completion.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to support scalability and compliance.
- Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and expense allocation.
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to the CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decisions.
- Serve as a hands-on accounting leader, performing day-to-day accounting tasks while mentoring or coordinating with other staff as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including startup or small company exposure.
- Hands-on experience with Quick Books and proven ability to lead system conversions.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing for or supporting audits.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing high transaction volume.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
