Salary: $48,000 – $60,000 per year (based on experience)
Requirement: Massachusetts Director I & II Credentials
About the RoleThe Learning Experience – Dedham is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Childcare and Preschool Operations to help lead our high-quality early childhood education center. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong early childhood leader who is ready to grow into (or continue in) a leadership role within a busy, successful daycare and preschool environment.
In this role, you will support center operations, coach teachers, ensure licensing compliance, and help drive enrollment, family satisfaction, and program quality.
What You’ll Do- Staff Leadership & Coaching
- Recruit, interview, and onboard early childhood teachers and support staff
- Observe classrooms and provide coaching, feedback, and training
- Support consistent, high-quality curriculum implementation across all age groups
- Build weekly schedules and manage classroom ratios to meet EEC requirements
- Maintain staff files, onboarding, and compliance documentation
- Center Operations & Quality
- Ensure daily compliance with Massachusetts EEC licensing regulations
- Partner with the Center Director to support enrollment growth and family engagement
- Help manage daily operations, staffing coverage, and center organization
- Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented school culture
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in a preschool or childcare center (2+ preferred)
- Classroom teaching experience with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool
- Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field preferred
- Massachusetts Director I & II credentials required
- Strong knowledge of EEC regulations and center operations
- CPR/First Aid preferred
