Nobles seeks multifaceted educators who will contribute significantly to the life of the school in at least one non-academic area (e.g., athletics, community service, admission, or performing arts) beyond the classroom teaching responsibilities of this position.
Position SummaryNobles seeks a full-time, experienced history teacher for the 2026–2027 school year, to cover a sabbatical leave. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic department whose members are passionate about teaching history, working collaboratively, and developing positive student-teacher relationships.
- Teach four sections of history (U.S. history and world history)
- Attend faculty, department, and course team meetings
- Commit to ongoing growth in classroom practice and curricular development
- Contribute to school life in at least one non-academic area (e.g., athletics, community service, admission, or performing arts)
- Attend all-school morning assemblies
- Supervise one study hall per 7-day cycle
- Complete two chaperone duties per year
- Participate in one to two admission events per year
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- A bachelor’s degree is required
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience is preferred
- Experience teaching history in a rigorous academic environment, preferably at the high school level
- A demonstrated interest in working with young people
