Under the clinical supervision of a supervising physician, the incumbent is a certified Physician Assistant who possesses advanced training and skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating well patients as well as patients with acute illness and disease. The PA works in a collaborative team practice that recognizes the patient as the central focus, supports the physician in situations requiring physical assessment and complex communication with patients, and serves as a patient educator in areas of specialization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care within the department of gastroenterology.
- Conduct physical assessments and manage complex communication with patients.
- Educate patients on disease management and preventive care.
- Collaborate with gastroenterologists, other PAs, nurses, and support staff.
- Participate in weekly educational programs and career development activities.
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Master’s‑level Physician Assistant program.
- National certification as a Physician Assistant (eligible).
- License to practice as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts.
- DEA registration and Massachusetts Department of Public Health Controlled Substances registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
- Minimum two years of experience, preferably as a PA within gastroenterology, colorectal surgery, rheumatology, or oncology.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with physicians, residents, nurses, patients, families, staff, and management.

Dedham, MA – Dedham Medical;
Monday–Friday;
Regular full-time (40 hrs); clinical professional. Individual contributor. This is an exclusive outpatient practice with a balanced schedule that provides an optimal work‑life balance. A combination of remote and in‑person patient visits allows flexibility in designing the work schedule.
