Cost Accountant

Description

Robert Half is looking for a meticulous Cost Accountant to join our client in NE Iowa. In this role, you will focus on analyzing, managing, and improving cost-related processes within a manufacturing environment. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate cost reporting and efficient financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed cost analyses to evaluate production expenses and identify areas for cost savings.

- Develop and maintain standard cost systems to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.

- Monitor manufacturing costs and provide insights to support decision-making and operational improvements.

- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing cost trends and projections for management review.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline cost accounting processes and enhance efficiency.

- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.

- Analyze variances between actual and standard costs, providing actionable recommendations.

- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by delivering precise cost-related data.

- Train and guide team members on cost accounting principles and best practices.

Requirements - Proven experience in cost accounting, particularly within a manufacturing environment.

- Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting practices and principles.

- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex financial data.

- Familiarity with cost analysis techniques and tools.

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Proficient in relevant accounting software and systems.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
