RN Med Surg - PRN

Overview

The Med/Surg RN coordinates total nursing care for patients admitted to the Med/Surg Unit. Participates in patient and family education. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team in accordance with the philosophy and mission of AMH and the Standards of Nursing Practice. Provides an environment conducive to patient safety and comfort. Demonstrates competence in general nursing skills including pre- and post-operative nursing care.

The RN will perform an admission assessment and subsequent assessment in a systemized, organized, and timely manner. The Med/Surg RN must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient s status and interpret information needed to identify each patient s requirements relative to age-specific needs.

The RN will seek educational resources and create learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continuing competence in nursing practice and individual professional growth.

• PRN
• Valid RN license in the State of Indiana
• BLS/CPR certification required with ACLS and PALS certifications required 6 months of hire
