Position: Vice President Business Development (Heartland U.S. Sales)

Independent Global Asset Management firm with a focus on private alternative investments is seeking an Institutional Sales/Business Development person to join their team. The position will be based in the Mid-West/Northwest. The territory is the Heartland U.S., and the ideal candidates will have established relationships with Northwest based institutional investors, both the investment staff & senior level decision makers, as well as both field and research investment consultants.

Experience selling private alternative investments to the institutional investors is required.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Drive commitments into the firm’s investment programs through relationships with institutional investors and financial consultants
  • Monitor key trends within the industry to help set sales strategy / sales campaigns focused on the Northwest based investor segment, identify conferences focused on territory, etc.
  • Set meetings with key stakeholders within the territory
  • Act as “relationship manager” for key stakeholders within respective territory
  • Collaborate / communicate all activity to general field sales, senior management, etc. for incorporation in general CRM system, ensure all relevant parties are informed of progress, etc.; manage pipeline of opportunities
  • Knowledge of private markets is required
  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic background
  • 10+ years of experience working within the investment industry (either selling to and / or working at / with prospective investors or financial consultants, where candidate would have deep relationships within the segment)
  • Strong networker with the ability to source opportunities independently
  • Strong project / process management skills and the ability to work well with others and operate in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Organization and attention to detail required
